LEXICAL MEMORY
ABILITY TO REMEMBER SEVERAL UNRELATED WORDS IN A SERIES
This cognitive function necessary for remembering several unrelated words in a series is referred to as lexical memory.
Where recognition and memory is weak, a person has to see and hear the word associated with its meaning several times before he remembers it.
The person also has trouble recognizing and remembering words that are a synonym for another which adversely impacts their reading.
